Carrick Swan GAA Club plans to invest a further €400,000 in Pairc na nEalaí facilities

The Swan GAA Club plans to invest an estimated €400,000 in more player and spectator facilities at Páirc na nEalaí.
Swan Club Development Officer Sean O’Shea told the official opening ceremony that while there is a lot done at Páirc na nEalaí there is still more to do.
“In the next few months we will be installing the artificial playing area and a 35m ball wall. Then we intend to expand our car park, and finally when funds allow, we will install a viewing stand.

“The approximate cost to complete these stages is €400,000 so our hard working fundraisers will be relying on your continued support.
“New facilities will not guarantee success. That will only come through hard work and practice but I think we can be very hopeful that success on the field will follow as a result of having these facilities,” he added.
Mr O’Shea outlined that more than €1m has been invested so far in Páirc na nEalaí.
He was proud the club has honoured the pledge made at the beginning that no large debt would remain with the club due to the project.
“With total grant aid exceeding €360,000 from various bodies such as the GAA Central Council and Munster Council, the Department of Tourism & Sport, South Tipperary Development Company and Tipperary County Council, our job was made easier.
“There is no better association than the GAA to assist clubs financially and with the necessary advice and encouragement required to undertake such a project of this magnitude,” he added.
