Former governor of Mountjoy Prison gives seminar at Tipperary school

Last Thursday, we had John Lonergan come visit St Mary's Secondary School, Newport. John was the governor of Mount Joy prison for over 20 years and working in the maximum security prison in Portlaoise.
He spoke to senior cycle students and gave them advice on life and the importance of thinking about our actions.
In the evening, he gave a talk to parents and guardians about parenting. Both seminars proved to be very popular and worthwhile!
Thank you to our parents council and Ms Minogue for providing food for the event, our TY students who helped on the night. Ms Thornton and Ms Conway for organising as well as John for being so generous with his time.
