Cashel Tidy Towns earn a Gold medal for the second year running

Cashel Tidy Town volunteers were delighted to hear that their hard work had helped to maintain Gold Medal for the second time, three members Ollie, Gérard and John travelled to Croke Park for the Supervalu Tidy Town National awards ceremony which was attended by over 600 volunteers from all over the 26 counties of Ireland and had entries from over 900 Towns and villages. But it was straight back Monday morning to continue to plan for next year and continue to maintain flower pots and remove weeds from footpaths, shrub beds and roads.

The Tidy Town group would like to thank John Ryan of Stove and Fireplace Cahir Road for treating all the volunteers to breakfast at Brosnans Bar Friday Morning , John has been a great follower and supporter of Cashel Tidy Town.

They also had the pleasure of meeting Richard Woods TUS supervisor who does tremendous work with seeking suitable candidates to support the Tidy Town group. At present they have three great workers Bart, James and Piotr. Also, through Eddie Fogarty, they have two fantastic groups who are doing fantastic work as well as removing waste on a daily basis from the work being done.

The group has been blown away by the number of people who have sent messages and support especially from councillors, the local council and businesses.

Anyone who would like to join the group will be very welcome, we meet week day mornings 9am at The weighbridge The Green Cashel E25 FY62.
