'Heavy showers on Monday with risk of downpours,' forecast not looking good

"Over 20mm of rain in parts of the south and west over next 24 hours and over 30mm possible locally, especially in the south west," says forecaster Alan O'Reilly. 

He added: "Heavy showers on Monday with risk of downpours.

"Winds increasing in the afternoon and evening with strong gusts in the south and then east, risk of local severe gusts again Monday afternoon and evening.

"Ferry services likely to be impacted too."
