There are reports of several accidents and collisions overnight in Tipperary due to "black ice".
Cllr Máirín McGrath said: "As normal all regional roads were salted this morning after 4am however due to rainfall since then and ground temperatures remaining low, this has now turned to black ice and is especially dangerous.
"I have been speaking to council staff this Saturday morning who inform me that all local roads are very dangerous, staff are responding to several accidents and collisions overnight. Footpaths are also very dangerous.
"Please take extreme caution on the roads this morning and only drive if it is necessary!
"Ardfinnan village is particularly bad."
