A man who had to be restrained by gardaí pleaded to being intoxicated in public at Nenagh District Court.

Terence Kenneally of Timeighty, Roscrea, pleaded to the offence at Limerick Road, Roscrea, on July 31, 2022.

The court heard that the gardaí had been dealing with another individual when Mr Kenneally appeared on the scene.

He was intoxicated and a danger to himself and the gardaí had to restrain him , the court heard.

He then fully cooperated with the gardaí.

Mr Kenneally’s solicitor, Mariea Flanagan told the court that her client “probably should not have been drinking”.

Judge Elizabeth MacGrath adjourned the matter to June 22 to see if Mr Kenneally was suitable for the Restorative Justice Programme.
