With Covid-19 testing no longer recommended for the majority of people, and test centres closing last week, HSE Mid West Community Healthcare has revealed that a total of 105,259 tests were carried out at its centre at the Old Castlebrand factory in Tyone in September 2020.

As per national policy, it was closed in September 2022 and Covid testing for Tipperary had since been located in South Tipperary University Hospital.

According to official figures there were 61 Covid cases in Tipperary in the two-weeks to March 27, the latest date for which figures are available

PCR and antigen testing will continue to be used by doctors in hospitals and General Practice settings for the purpose of diagnosing and deciding on the provision of treatment for Covid-19.
