A motorist who was involved in a series of dangerous driving incidents has been disqualified from driving by Nenagh District Court.

John Blagdon of Ballythomas Cross, Ardcroney, Nenagh, pleaded to the offences at Silver Street and Summerhill, within the town, on September 25, 2022.

The court heard that Mr Blagdon was observed driving erratically at Silver Street where there was a large crowd of people.

The same car was observed at Pearse Street and the driver was asked to switch off his engine.

Instead, he sped up Summerhill.

His solicitor, Liz McKeever, said that her client had been going through a “difficult time” and the offences were “out of character”.

Judge Elizabeth MacGrath said that Mr Blagdon’s type of driving in the middle of the town had "put peoples’ lives at risk".

She fined him a total of €700 for both offences and disqualified him for a total of two years.

She fixed recognizance in his own bond of €250.
