Students have options for digs accommodation in the town
Minister for Further and Higher Education James Lawless recently confirmed that Mary Immaculate College in Thurles has 36 on-campus ensuite bedrooms, while 213 digs beds were being advertised in Thurles at the end of June.
He confirmed the accommodation situation in the north Tipperary town, as local TD Deputy Ryan O'Meara has welcomed confirmation that Thurles will be able to benefit from new Government measures aimed at increasing the supply of student accommodation.
Minister Lawless confirmed that the Government's new National Student Accommodation Strategy 2026-2035 includes a range of measures designed to increase both the supply and affordability of student accommodation; a key part of the strategy is supporting higher education institutions to offer purpose-built student accommodation projects through partnerships with private developers.
