Ciara O' Neill from Clonmel recently won a silver medal for athletics while representing MTU.

A student from Clonmel has been honoured by her University for winning a silver medal at a recent athletics championships tournament.

Yesterday, Tipperary's Ciara O' Neill was honoured for her recent second place finish in the Irish Universities Athletics Association (IUAA) Cross Country Championships in Tymon Park, Dublin.

Numerous members of the MTU Executive presented Ciara with the Silver Medal along with Lucy Holmes, who also is a student at MTU, who placed first on the day.

MTU had never won any medal at these championships so to get two on the one day was remarkable, well done to both girls.
