A popular Tipperary fast food takeaway is to reopen this Tuesday under new management.

Mamma's Pizzeria and takeaway on Pearse Street, Nenagh, had been in the Malizia family for over four decades.

Originally run by Domenico and Guiseppina Malizia, it has been run by their family following Guiseppina's passing in 2020. She was predeceased by her husband, a son and a daughter.

Guiseppina was best known to thousands of people from around the Nenagh area as simply "Mamma".

Originally from Italy, the family settled in Dublin before moving to Nenagh.

The business suffered a fire in late 2020, and following extensive renovations, reopened.
