Room at Áras Mumhan was renamed in honour of the late Nuala Nealon

On Thursday evening November 28, one of the main meeting rooms at Áras Mumhan was renamed in honour of the late Nuala Nealon who sadly passed away unexpectedly on August 30.

A native of Newtown outside of Nenagh in county Tipperary, Nuala worked for Munster GAA as an administrator for 32 years, following in the footsteps of her father Donie who served as Secretary of Munster Council from 1977 to 2004 and her grandfather Rody who served as one of the Tipperary delegates to Munster Council.

In front of a large crowd of Munster Council officers, staff members and Council members from the six counties in addition to members of the Nealon family. Welcoming everybody, Munster GAA Chairman Ger Ryan spoke of the great sadness at Nuala’s passing and the importance of remembering Nuala’s contribution to Munster Council.

Speaking on behalf of the Nealon family, Donie Nealon spoke of the appreciation the family have felt from the many kind messages received since Nuala’s death, and how grateful they were for Nuala to remembered by the Munster Council in this way.

Kieran Leddy, CEO and Secretary of Munster Council then officially launched “Seomra Nuala Ní Nualláin” in Nuala’s honour.
