6. Ronan Maher (Thurles Sarsfields) His influence will be huge here. The main train of thought here is that if TJ moves out from the full forward line, Maher will be able to match his aerial threat. However, if he stays inside, Maher will likely be able to drop into the space in response to Richie Reid's role at the other end.

7. Bryan O'Mara (Holycross Ballycahill) O'Mara is in All-Star form this term for Tipperary, and he will likely tag a man in hot form of his own in Billy Ryan. The defensive work of the Holycross Ballycahill man has come on leaps and bounds, and with the pace to match, he will be a good match for Ryan.

8. Willie Connors (Kiladangan) Connors will have a job of work on his hands as he and his midfield teammate will be matching up with Cian Kenny. The Kilkenny midfielder has been terrific this year, and with Connors hitting form at the right time, it will be an interesting match-up.

9. Sam O'Farrell (Nenagh Éire Óg) O'Farrell lined out at wing forward against Galway, but with the Peter McGarry experiment failing to ignite, there is a need for the energy the Nenagh man has. He did fine against Galway, but his workrate and industry may be better served in complementing a more senior partner in Connors in the middle.
