2. Padraig O'Dwyer (Killenaule) Yet another O’Dwyer to add to the ranks of the Killenaule team, young Padraig showed his quality against Portroe last weekend. Playing in a defence that conceded a paltry 1-8, he was very assured and looks like a player that they can hang their hat on in the fullback line for years to come. Very good.

3. David Maher (Thurles Sarsfields) A man with plenty of experience in a Sarsfields jersey, Maher was extremely solid at full back last weekend in an unexpected win over Éire Óg. Didn't do anything flash but was a safe presence back there all game.

4. Conor Gleeson (Gortnahoe Glengoole) A player with real athleticism, Gleeson was part of a full back line that really curtailed a dangerous and lively Lorrha forward line that contains Patrick ‘Bonner’ Maher and Colm Fogarty. His energy is savage and he is always in the airspace of his marker, with his pace a real weapon. He also carried a lot of possession out of defence to good effect.

5. Odhran Floyd (Newport) Floyd was late coming back into the fold this year after recovering from injury, and has slowly built back up his fitness and form and was terrific in the draw with Clonakenny at the weekend. He’s a really good stickman and has an eye for a score too, hitting 0-2 during the game bursting out of defence.
