12. John Sheedy (Portroe) Another experienced head to make this week’s team is Portroe’s John Sheedy who really stepped up to the mark in the loss to Gortnahoe. There has been more than enough said about the lack of attacking punch in Portroe’s scoring division with two key absentees, but Sheedy stepped up big time here and can feel hard done by to finish on the losing side as he bagged 0-11 with five of those coming from play.

13. Stephen Murray (Burgess) A man who is no stranger to teams of the week or notching big scoring totals, Murray was at it once again in an impressive and easy win over Newport last weekend. Slotted a cool 1-12 with 1-2 coming from play. He is as good a freetaker as there is in the county at the moment.

14. Paddy Fahy (Cashel King Cormacs) While he only hit 0-1 during the game against St Marys at the weekend, Fahy had a really big game for the King Cormacs in the win. His aerial and ball-winning ability was hugely important all game, providing a real focal point of attack for Cashel which fed off him all game.

15. Keane Hayes (Gortnahoe Glengoole) Yet another appearance on the team of the week for Gortnahoe’s sharpshooter Keane Hayes, and richly deserved once again. Scored 0-17 of his side’s total of 0-24, and while the team as a whole didn’t function to its usual standard, he maintained his and also hit three fine points from play. A really lively and classy hurler.
