1. Daryl Ryan (Roscrea) Despite conceding two goals against Silvermines at the weekend, Ryan had a very good outing. He was unlucky for one of those goals having made a good save initially, while he puckouts as always were on the money.

6. Ciaran O'Dwyer (Killenaule) A really good outing for the more unheralded of the O'Dwyer's. Ciaran had a very good game in the half back line in the big win over Ballina, with his long range shooting a real feature of his game.

7. Johnny Mulqueen (Burgess) Mulqueen is one of the experienced heads in a Burgess team that is re-building. He was immense for large spells of the game against Newport, and notched 0-2 booming point during the game.

8. Ger Browne (Cashel King Cormacs) Re-deployed further out the field for the Portroe game, Browne made a nuisance of himself as he got the better of his battle with Robert Byrne, scoring 0-4 in the process.

9. Michael Breen (Ballina) Started the year very slowly for Ballina, but was back to his best in the defeat to Killenaule. He finished the game with 2-11, including one beautiful sideline cut. Hopefully, this is the start of a rejuvenation at club and county level.
