2. Scott Hogan (Carrick Swans) The Swan's brilliant year was built around a solid foundation at the back and Scott Hogan was a constant at full-back.

3. Davy Nolan (Gortnahoe Glengoole) Another defensive lynchpin that had a terrific year. Physically imposing, he had his best game in the loss to Carrick Swans in the quarter-final.
3.
4. Keith Ryan (Upperchurch Drombane) Overall, Upperchurch Drombane underperformed this year, Keith Ryan can be happy with his year. He was a constant performer, carry ball and generally bringing the game forward from defence. A solid operator.

5. Brian Maher (Gortnahoe Glengoole) Possibly the most underrated player in the championship this year, Maher was outstanding at the heart of the Gortnahoe defence. His ability to carry possession with pace was a massive weapon in the half-back line and he did decent scoring throughout the championship too.
