Tipperary Darkness Into Light committee gets ready for annual fundraising walk

The AGM of Nenagh Darkness Into Light (DIL) took place on January 24 in Andy Flynn’s in Nenagh.

The committee elected on the night includes Ryan O’Meara, chairperson; Christine Nevin, vice-chair; Michael Hogan, secretary; Shane Kiely, treasurer; Eavan Carmody Delaney and Amanda McGee, social media officers; Tricia Delaney, safety officer, and Helena O’Sullivan, events organiser.

Mr O’Meara said: “It’s a great honour and a huge responsibility to lead this committee as chair for another year, and I am very grateful that the Nenagh DIL team have placed this trust in me again this year.

“Our planning is already well underway and we are working hard to organise another successful 5km walk this year, as we both raise awareness of and vital funds for the lifesaving work that Pieta House does.”

DIL will take place on the morning of May 6. The 5km walk/run around the town raises funds for Pieta House, who offer support for people affected by suicidal ideation, and also offer bereavement counselling and supports for families impacted by suicide.
