Tipperary families to benefit from new sensory play centre

Inclusive indoor play facility approved for Cashel Town Shopping Centre
Cashel is set to get a new sensory play area after Tipperary County Council recently granted planning permission for the new development.
The applicant, A Sense of Fun Ltd, intends to change unit 2 of Cashel Town Shopping Centre from a retail unit into a sensory play area for children.
Permission was granted on July 13 with two conditions attached.
The first condition requires that, unless modified by the attached conditions, the development must be carried out in accordance with the plans and particulars submitted to the Planning Authority with the application. The council said this condition is intended to clarify the terms of the permission and ensure the development proceeds in the interests of proper planning and sustainable development.
The second condition specifies that all signage for the unit must be located within the shopping centre's internal mall. According to the council, this is to prevent visual clutter and avoid any adverse impact on the appearance of the building or the surrounding area.
A Sense of Fun Ltd describes the development on their website as a sensory play centre in Cashel, designed for children of all abilities to explore, learn and thrive.
The news will be welcomed by parents of children with additional needs in Cashel and the surrounding area, who will soon have access to a dedicated sensory play space designed to provide a safe and calm environment for their children to play.
