2. Cathal Barrett Rating: No rating Unfortunately for Barrett, he fell foul of the massive frame of Ronan Maher when battling for a high ball in the 12th minute. Left the venue after with his shoulder propped up in a sling but hopefully it is nothing serious. A key man for this team.

3. Michael Breen Rating: 7/10 The Breen experiment continues to pick up support with another steady outing at full back. Cahill was full of praise for the Ballina man after the match and he looks to be bedding in nicely.

4. Johnny Ryan Rating: 7/10 Two starts on the bounce for the Arravale Rovers man and he was impressive in Nowlan Park on Sunday. Looks to have the pace, strength, and ability to carry the ball at this level. Made a run in the final seconds of the match being chased by five Kilkenny players before setting up Mark Kehoe for a point. A picture for the scrap book!

5. Enda Heffernan Rating: 8/10 Heffernan came into a line which looks well stocked in terms of options, but he had a very prominent role in the win on Sunday. Has a very assured first touch and used the ball really well throughout apart from one long run which led to a loss of possession in the first half.
