Alleged assault took place in Kildare town, gardaí claim

SENT FORWARD FOR TRIAL
An assault accusation relating to an alleged incident in Kildare town was detailed at Naas District Court on Thursday, October 5 last.
Noel Walsh, of Maryville, Melitta Road in Kildare town, was accused of assaulting a person, with the aid of another person, on Claregate Street in Kildare town on April 15 last.
The identity of the 54-year-old’s co-accused was not disclosed to the court on the date in question.
Gardaí alleged that the assault was caught on CCTV, in which it allegedly showed Mr Walsh’s co-accused knocking the alleged injured party to the ground and stamping on them 'multiple times.'
It was further alleged that Mr Walsh punched the alleged injured party twice.
After a book of evidence was served by gardaí on Mr Walsh, Judge Desmond Zaidan sent him forward for trial at the present sittings of Naas Circuit Criminal Court.
