An Garda Síochána Kildare announces October roads safety campaign

The campaign runs from Thursday, October 22 to Tuesday, October 27
An Garda Síochána Kildare has announced increased roads policing enforcement from Thursday, October 22 to Tuesday, October 27 for the October bank holiday period.
Gardaí will be targeting speeding, dangerous driving, mobile phone use, seat belt offences and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
As the evenings get darker, roads become wetter and fallen leaves create slippery surfaces, drivers are urged to slow down, increase stopping distances and adjust their driving to the conditions.
Motorcyclists are reminded to take extra care, particularly at junctions and on slippery roads.
Pedestrians and cyclists are asked to light up and wear high visibility clothing.
A garda spokesperson said: “One moment of carelessness can change lives forever.
Drive safely, stay alert and help prevent fatal and serious collisions this Bank Holiday weekend.”
