Attempted break-in at charity shop which supports Kildare animal rescue shelter
Attempted break-in at My Lovely Vintage in Edenderry, which raises funds for My Lovely Horse Rescue in north Kildare
A charity shop in Edenderry, Co. Offaly, which raises funds from My Lovely Horse Rescue across the border in North Kildare, was damaged in an attempted break-in last week.
In a Facebook post on My Lovely Vintage Shop page, it said; “Sadly, on Tuesday night someone attempted to break into My Lovely Vintage, damaging our lock and our door in the process. We are a local charity, raising funds to help animals in need, and we simply do not have money set aside for costly repairs.
“There is nothing expensive kept in our shop and we do not keep money on the premises. Every penny raised goes towards helping our animals and supporting our local community. If someone is genuinely in need of help, we would much rather you came to us and asked. We would gladly try to help where we can. Please do not vandalise or damage our store. We have CCTV footage and this will be passed on to the relevant authorities. We are asking our local community to please keep an eye out and share this post.”
My Lovely Horse Rescue is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing unwanted, neglected and abused equines, pigs, goats, sheep, dogs, and cats. The charity believes that all animals deserve kindness, compassion and deepest respect.
“ We’ve created a safe haven for our rescued friends at our three farms where we make sure that each and every one of them has a life worth living.,” it said.
