Busy Kildare road 'should be widened' for cycle lanes and cars

A call has been made for landowners to be approached to facilitate this
A call has been made for the busiest road in Naas to be widened.
Independent councillor Seamie Moore wants cycle lanes on the Sallins Road.
He has asked Kildare County Council to “open discussions with landowners” in the area.
He says there is a need to "acquire sufficient road space” to provide safe cycle lanes and “a continuous flow of traffic that is now restricted and unavailable due to a single traffic lane approach to the Monread Avenue junction from Naas.”
He said that predicted housing development in the area along with population increases as well as “transport infrastructure developments” in the area means that the route would be widened.
