KILDARE TOWN

Charges against four individuals in a Naas District Court case have officially been withdrawn by gardaí.

Back in 2022, gardaí alleged that the four individuals had assault of a man and also committed criminal damage to a car, at Oaktree Avenue in County Kildare on March 9, 2021.

The four individuals that gardaí identified as suspects are as follows: Daniel Kelly, 24, with an address listed as 59 Cedarwood Park in Newbridge; Eoin Murphy, 24, with an address listed as 28 Rosconnell Square in Newbridge; Paddy McDonagh, 23, with an address listed as 136-137 Phibsborough Road, Dublin 7, County Dublin; and Bridget McDonagh, 20, with an address listed as Willows Gate, Naas Road, Newbridge.

However, on the latest court date (Thursday, February 15 last), gardaí told Judge Desmond Zaidan that the charges against the four defendants in this case were being withdrawn by the State.

It was also heard that Mr Kelly is involved in another Naas District Court court case.

Gardaí allege that Mr Kelly committed a criminal damage offence at St Patrick's Terrace in Newbridge on September 22, 2020.

Judge Zaidan accepted jurisdiction over this case and remanded Mr Kelly on continuing bail until the case resumes on March 7 for hearing.
