Changes sought for previously permitted Kildare warehouse development
Kildare County Council is due to make a decision on the latest application at the end of next month
Changes are being sought for a previously permitted warehouse and light industrial development located in County Kildare.
Esprit Investments Limited has submitted a planning permission application to Kildare County Council (KCC) in relation to a site in Celbridge.
Specifically, the address of the site is listed in the application as a "0.88 hectare site in the townland of Moortown, Celbridge".
The application also notes: "The site, which is currently partially in use as a surface car park, is generally bound to the north by the M4 Motorway and undeveloped lands, to the south by the R405, to the east by undeveloped lands, and to the west by Blocks C and D of the M4 Interchange Business Park, County Kildare."
The description of the latest application notes that the previous planning application in relation to the site was granted under "KCC Reg. Ref. 22/627 (as amended by KCC Reg. Ref. 24/87 and 24/88 and proposed to be amended by KCC Reg. Ref. 25/60553)."
The previous application was first proposed by Esprit Investments Ltd in 2022 and was granted planning permission by KCC the following year.
DETAILS
According to the description of the latest application, the amendments would principally comprise of:
- The omission of Unit B (warehouse with a Gross Floor Area of 2,622 square metres) and its associated infrastructure including 46 parking spaces
- The provision of an ancillary car park comprising 193 spaces to serve Block C in the M4 Interchange Business Park.
- Access to the ancillary car park, which would be via the M4 Interchange Business Park.
The amendments would also comprise of:
- Modifications to permitted landscaping and boundary treatments
- The provision of bicycle parking
- The provision of gates
- Permission for all associated site and development works
The date received on the latest application is listed as June 3 last, while the submission-by and due dates are listed as July 7, 2025 and July 28, 2025 respectively.
