The ‘When you Fill, Support Jack and Jill’ fundraiser initiative will take place for a second year

Circle K, Ireland’s largest forecourt and convenience retailer, is delighted to announce the return of its ‘When you Fill, Support Jack and Jill’ fundraising initiative for a second year. To celebrate its sponsorship of Cannonball Ireland 2024, 1c from every litre of miles and milesPlus fuel sold will go directly to the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation, during the weekend that this year’s Cannonball Ireland event will take place (September 6-8).

As an event synonymous with driving, and with tens of thousands of people expected to spectate over the weekend, Circle K is bringing back ‘When You Fill, Support Jack and Jill’ to raise crucial funds for the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation and fuel motorists on the go across the weekend. The ‘When You Fill, Support Jack and Jill’ initiative will run in participating Circle K and Circle K Express sites nationwide.

Circle K Ireland has supported the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation since 2022. Donations to the charity supports hundreds of children who are living with highly complex and life-limiting medical conditions nationwide while empowering parents to care for their child at home. In 2023, donations to the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation helped the charity to directly supports its highest number of families ever in one year, 534 in total.

Cannonball, fuelled by milesPLUS from Circle K, is the largest organised road trip in Europe and features the finest cars in the world, including cars by brands such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Porsche, Aston Martin, and Maserati. Spectators can see these supercars on the move as they visit six counties across the country on this year’s road trip. Members of the public can delight in the spectacle of supercars at scheduled stops in Meath, Wicklow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Galway and Leitrim and at Circle K sites in Gorey and Kilcullen where the cars will be stopping for important refills. All the action can be followed on the Cannonball live tracker as the road trip travels across Ireland during the three days of the event. Commenting on the initiative, Ciara Foxton, Managing Director at Circle K Ireland said: ‘We are delighted to bring the ‘When You Fill, Support Jack and Jill’ initiative back to sites nationwide, after last year’s success, which generated over €105,000 in funds for the charity - the equivalent of almost 5,800 hours of nursing care for families. From September 6th-8th, 1c from every litre of miles and milesPlus fuel sold, will be donated to Jack and Jill, ensuring their inspirational team can continue to support children with life-limiting conditions nationwide.

We’re also thrilled to further support the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation through our sponsorship of Cannonball Ireland, which will see some of the world’s finest supercars travelling across the country over the same weekend. Customers who refill at their local Circle K, can help raise essential funds for Jack and Jill families and if they visit one of the three Circle K fuel stops selected for Cannonball this year, they’ll also get to see some amazing supercars too”.

Deirdre Walsh, CEO of the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation added: ‘Deirdre Walsh, CEO of the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation said, “We are so grateful for the continued support from Circle K

and their customers and want to extend a big thank you to all involved in this wonderful initiative. Jack and Jill currently supports over 400 families in communities across Ireland. Often described as ‘a gift of time’ or a ‘lifeline’, this support gives parent carers a break from their 24/7 care regime, safe in the knowledge that their child is well cared for at home, where they belong. ‘When you Fill, Support Jack and Jill’ is a fantastic way for people to help us raise funds to keep this service going.
