A new two-storey nursing home with 156 bedrooms has been granted permission near Maynooth.

Meath County Council granted permission to developers Sky Castle Limited for the development near Moygaddy off the Dunboyne Road.

Also approved is the construction of a new three-storey primary care centre with a shared surface car park providing 161 car parking spaces and approximately 160 bicycle parking spaces.

Also in the plans is a communal and public open space.

Road realignment works along the R157 including the construction of a new 2-way, 6m-wide access road from the R157 Dunboyne road.

The documents also proved for a new 2m-wide footpath, 3m-wide cycle lane and pedestrian and cycle link adjacent to Kildare Bridge.

The project has an estimated construction value of €33m, according to the Construction Information Services database.
