Green light for extension to primary school in Kildare

Approval has been granted for an extension to a primary school in north Kildare.

The news will be a welcome development for teachers and pupils at Newtown National School near Enfield.

Kildare County Council planners signed off on the single storey extension to the rear of existing single storey school building.

In the designs are a two-classroom special education unit, a Special Education Tutition room and a plant room.

The floor area of the proposed extension is 463 sqm.

The plans include a secure external soft play area.
