How good driver and pedestrian behaviour is combining to create a safe environment in a Kildare town

Good driver and pedestrian behaviour is combining to create a safe environment for them in Kilcock.
KCC official Mark McLoughlin told a municipal district meeting that the behaviour of both “works well” in Kilcock town centre.
There are a number of uncontrolled crossing points in the square and these are marked by tactile pavers (slightly raised surfaces) which have light yellow-brown colour.
The meeting was told that the approach roads are narrow, which leads to reduced speeds of vehicles and means that drivers have a good view of pedestrians waiting to cross the road.
Mr McLoughlin also said there have been no reports of issues with pedestrians crossing the roads in the square and it is an example of where both driver behaviour and pedestrian behaviour “works well in one of our town centres.”
