Insulation should be done as KCC-owned homes get new heating systems

The retrofitting of some residential properties owned by Kildare County Council has led to higher electricity bills for some.
Cllr Rob Power has asked KCC survey tenants “about the impacts of investment in energy retrofit programmes that the council have conducted.”
KCC is carrying out an analysis - though the results are not available yet.
There were complaints from councillors that the installation of air-to-water heating systems has resulted in higher power bills.
KCC official Annette Aspell said that while the data is not available yet, there is increased interest in retrofitting done among council tenants.
“There is more interest that 12 or eighteen months ago,” she said at a KCC meeting.
