KILDARE: Amenities are not keeping pace with houses and apartments in Naas

Apartments and houses are being built at a rate of knots in the Naas area - but the amenities for the people moving in are not being provided.
Councillors at a Naas Municipal District meeting - who are also responsible for the zoning of land that facilitates residential development - complained that land and infrastructure is needed for a variety of sporting, community and cultural activities.
The issue was raised by Cllr Seamie Moore who claimed that facilities for social, cultural, community and sporting activities are not being provided fast enough and this applies to areas adjacent to Naas, like Sallins.
Cllr Fintan Brett said that a community hall is badly needed in Kill but this has not happened despite “huge development levies (payable by builders) being taken in.”
Cllr Bill Clear complained that there is very little space for amenities to be provided.
