KILDARE ANIMALS IN NEED: Council staff raise €1,000 for KWSPCA

KWWSPCA COLUMN
Thanks very much to the staff in Kildare County Council for organising a Christmas Jumper and Bake Sale in their office.
They raised over €1,000 for our charity and we are very grateful for their support.
Rescue dog Callie who features in our emotive two-minute Christmas video got a warm reception from the staff. (‘Happy Christmas Callie’ is on Facebook and Instagram).
Maxi Zoo in Newbridge is supporting the KWWSPCA again this Christmas with its Maxi Zoo Shelter Wishes.
If you are shopping in their Newbridge store in the run up to Christmas, you can pick a wish from their Christmas tree and then purchase the product on the wish card.
This is then placed under their tree and on Christmas Eve all the gifts will go to our shelter in Athgarvan.
The KWWSPCA is very grateful for the financial support of the Minister and the Department of Agriculture, Food, and the Marine (DAFM).
The DAFM has recently increased its Animal Welfare Grant Funding to the KWWSPCA from €58,025 in 2023 to €62,025 for the coming year.
The Department’s financial support of the Society and its continued interest in its work is very much appreciated and much needed.
We had a brilliant response this year to our annual appeal for fosterers to take our dogs at the shelter into their homes over the Christmas and thank you to everyone for supporting this request.
Thanks also to everyone who has supported us in so many ways this year.
We found homes for almost two hundred dogs and three hundred and fifty cats.
A very Happy Christmas from all the volunteers at our shelter and our charity shop Noah’s Ark.
