KILDARE: Athy school pupils take part in community art project

In October of 2023 1st to 4th class students in three primary schools in Athy (Scoil Mhicil Naofa, Scoil Phadraig Naofa and Gaelscoil Ath I) were invited to participate in Slaintecare Healthy Communities Athy “Colour Your Community initiative.
Each student in these classes were asked to colour in an image of community.
All of these images are on display in Athy in the library, Bradburys shop front and A&A pharmacy.
Eleven images were chosen to feature as key images in a 2024 Calendar which will be given to every child in the three participating schools. Chosen by a judging panel the chosen entries will be presented with a certificate on Saturday December 2 nd by Eric Donovan at a special breakfast with Santa event in the Arch Community Centre Athy from 10am-12pm. We hope to also be joined by elected representatives from the Athy MD.
The children, their siblings and beloved adults are all invited for a light, healthy breakfast and a visit from Santa to celebrate their art work and their community.
