Kildare boy to feature in TG4 show

Maynooth boy Luke Hanrahan stars in episode one of Siarr Linn, which airs this Tuesday evening, January 14 on CÚLA4 at 7:17pm.

After a hugely successful first series last year on TG4’s dedicated new children’s channel, CÚLA4, this engaging Irish language show for 8–12-year old’s, has just launched its second season.

Each episode of SIAR LINN (“Back with Us”) sees children from around Ireland get a chance to go and explore another era and see what it was like to be a child in a different time. We are thrown intro multiples eras, from the legendary Fianna warrior period to the harmonious 60’s Woodstock festival. The aim of the series is to gently explore history and folklore in an interactive way, with our young viewers being entertained, whilst also happening to learn some fun facts along the way!

Each week, a group of ‘Abhatáranna Eachtra’ (Adventurer Avatars) aka - four children - take on a new era. With the help of some magic of television, our friends travel to another period, and face a number of tasks and challenges along the way. In our studio, our ‘Scuad Staire’ History Squad – Harry, Joshua, Pippa & Luisne, play the Siar Linn game – where they must win as many gold badges as possible with the help of their Adventurer friends who are busy trying to win badges in the Past! The show is fronted by well-known children’s TV presenter, Ray Cuddihy, who many will remember also as Múinteoir Ray on Home School Hub.

The four incredible and gifted actors in Episode One includes children from Mullingar Muirin Ní Dhuinn, Aoife Ní Dhuinn and Joseph Cléirigh, with Luke Hanrahan from Maynooth. Join the children on a legendary adventure as they give us a glimpse into the lives of the Fianna, training like warriors through a variety of tasks and challenges, with the incredible era-inspired backdrop of Dun na Sí Heritage Park in Moate, Westmeath.

It won't always be easy, but it will always be fun to watch!
