A man was so drunk he could not find his truck, it was claimed at Naas District Court.

Iain Trainor, 55, whose address was given as 12 Through Lane, Gilford, Craigavon, Northern Ireland, was prosecuted for a breach of the Public Order Act on October 30 last.

The court heard that a drunk male was causing a nuisance at a truck show event at Mondello Park.

The court heard that many people stayed over for the event which featured hundreds of trucks on display.

Solicitor David Powderly said the defendant could not locate his truck. He said he was apologetic and was willing to make a donation to charity.

The court also heard the man was detained for his own safety.

Judge Desmond Zaidan adjourned the matter for a charitable donation to be made and if this is done he will apply the Probation Act.
