Kildare court: Man accused of raping unconscious woman

A man who appeared before Naas District Court on Thursday, November 9 last was accused of raping an unconscious woman following a 'student’s night out.'

The allegations were relayed to Judge Desmond Zaidan by gardaí present in during the in-camera (in private) court session on the date in question.

Gardaí alleged that the man committed the offence in County Kildare on a date in 2022.

After a book of evidence was served on the accused, Judge Zaidan sent his case forward for trial to the present sittings of the Central Criminal Court.

The judge granted bail for the defendant until the case resumes.

He also agreed to certify for both Junior and Senior Counsel in the case.
