KILDARE COURT: Man 'pulled a knife on family member'

Allegation
A man who pulled a knife on a family member was the subject of an application for protection by his parents.
They couple told the court he is drinking all the time, his behaviour is threatening and they fear that either of them will be attacked.
The Naas District Court was told that he moved back to the home after his girlfriend threw him out over drugs.
After pulling a knife on a family member he said he would stick it in their throat.
The court was told the man had gone to rehab but had later relapsed.
“We’re walking on eggshells,” the father told the court, adding that his son is a functioning alcoholic who goes to work every day.
Judge Miriam Walsh granted an interim barring order.
