KILDARE COURT: Woman banned from owning a pet for 10 years after 10 minute dog attack

A woman has been banned from owning a pet for ten years after her Staffordshire Bull Terrier dog attacked another canine.
Martina Brennan, 42, whose address was given as Maldron Hotel, Dorset Street, Dublin 1, was prosecuted for breaching the Control of Dogs Act on January 23, 2022.
Sgt Dave Hanrahan said the injured party was walking her dog at Main Street, Prosperous, when it was attacked by the defendant’s own dog.
Sgt Hanrahan told Naas District Court the incident went on for 10 minutes and the bull terrier pulled the other dog down by the tail when the injured party picked up her dog.
Sgt Hanrahan said he did not know what happened to the offending dog.
She was also fined €500 for not having the dog on a lead and for not having it under control.
