A Kildare driver was recently arrested for driving whilst disqualified.
While on patrol in Monasterevin, Naas Roads Policing Unit noticed a motorist driving whilst using a mobile phone.
Gardai quickly discovered the driver was disqualified from driving, and the driver was arrested at the roadside.
The motorist now faces:
-
A court appearance
-
Up to two years' imprisonment
-
A fine of up to €5,000
-
A further, lengthy ban from driving
An Garda Síochána Kildare noted: “Driving while disqualified is not a mistake — it is a deliberate choice that endangers every other road user.
“Naas RPU will continue to take firm action against those who ignore the law and put lives at risk. One bad decision can change everything.
“Drive legally. Drive responsibly.”
