'Injury to eye and face but no bones broken'

A man appeared in court following an alleged incident of “road rage.”

Michael McNamara, 26, whose address was given as Royal Canal Court, Kilcock, faces an allegation of assault on April 11, 2024, at Barrogstown, Maynooth.

It was claimed that the injured party sustained an injury to his left eye and face but no bones were broken.

Sgt Mary Meade said the allegation arose because of a verbal argument and the injured party was punched in the face and fell to the ground.

The injured party was taken to hospital for treatment, it was claimed.

The matter was adjourned by Judge Desmond Zaidan for a victim impact statement.
