A previous hearing was told that the background to the case was 20 to 30 high profile incidents including arson attacks and the discharge of a firearm.

“It is between a number of families and has been ongoing for a number of years and has accelerated more recently,” said Gda Michéal Mangan.

He said a lot of incidents had been reported tothegardaí, not necessarily by intended targets but by a parent of someone else living in a property.

The court was also told it is planned to make bail applications on behalf of the defendants in the High Court.

The case was adjourned by Judge Zaidan to September 25. The judge told the defendants that if bail is granted they must appear in person on that date and if not they will likely appear via video link.
