CONTESTED
Gardaí based in County Kildare have alleged that a man from Allenwood harboured suspected cocaine worth an estimated €1,900.
The accusations were detailed to Judge Desmond Zaidan while he presided over Naas District Court on Thursday, March 7 last.
It has been alleged that the suspected haul was discovered by gardaí in the home of Derek Moore, with an address given as 40 Grand Canal Wood in Allenwood, on December 22, 2022.
The 42-year-old accused was charged under Section 15 of the Misuse of Drugs Act, 1977, which relates to alleged drug dealing offences.
Mr Moore is contesting the allegations, according to his defending solicitor, David Powderly.
Judge Zaidan accepted jurisdiction over the case and adjourned it to June 27 for hearing.
The judge granted Mr Moore bail until the case resumes.
