Kildare gardai seize illegal high-powered e-scooter

Athy Roads Policing Unit were on patrol when they detected the e-scooter

Athy Roads Policing Unit were on patrol in Kildare recently when they detected an illegal KuKirin G2 e-scooter being used in a public place.

The e-scooter was seized.

According to Kildare gardai, these high-powered e-scooters are not legal for use on public roads or in public places in Ireland and “pose a serious risk to the rider and everyone around them.”

A garda spokesperson stated: “If you own one, now is the time to get rid of it. Return it if possible, or dispose of it through an authorised recycling facility. If we find it being used illegally in a public place, we will seize it.”

The spokesperson added: “Think before you ride. Stay safe. Stay legal.”
