The motorist was breaking the speed limit, as well as numerous other offences

While out on patrol in Co Kildare recently, Naas Roads Policing Unit detected and stopped a vehicle which was travelling at 108km/h in a 60km/h zone.

Checks revealed the driver had no insurance, no motor tax, no NCT and, incredibly, was driving on a learner permit.

The driver was issued Fixed Charge Penalty Notices for speeding, no motor tax and no NCT, and will appear before the courts for driving without insurance.

The vehicle was seized.

A garda spokesperson said of the incident: “Speeding gets our attention. Driving without insurance keeps it. Every journey comes with responsibility. This driver ignored every one of them.”
