ACCUSATION

Gardaí have claimed that a man was in possession of cash and testosterone.

Substitute judge Nicola-Jane Andrews was informed about the allegations at Naas District Court on Thursday, July 18 last.

The accusations relate to Cathal McConnell, with an address given as 9 The View, Cnoc Na Gréine in Kilcullen.

Garda Lisa Boshell was sworn in and told Judge Andrews that she arrested and cautioned the 36-year-old defendant in the usual manner, that he made no reply after caution, and that she handed him a true copy of the charge sheet.

Gda Boshell said that on May 4, 2023, Mr McConnell was found to be in possession of around €8,670 of cash and €15,000 of suspected testosterone, with the intent of supplying it to others without an official medical prescription, at his home address.

She added that there was no objection to bail being granted for the accused.

Judge Andrews refused jurisdiction over the case and remanded Mr McConnell on bail until the case resumes on December 12.

A book of evidence is due to be furnished by gardaí when the case resumes in court.
