Kildare Gardaí encountered a vehicle left stationary halfway out onto the roadway just outside Kildare Town.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of intoxicated driving.

Checks revealed the driver was also disqualified from driving and had no insurance.

The vehicle was seized under Section 41 of the Road Traffic Act.

A garda spokesperson said of the incident: “No insurance. No licence. Intoxicated behind the wheel. These are serious road safety offences that put lives at risk.

“If you are disqualified from driving, do not drive. If you have no insurance, do not drive. If you are intoxicated, do not drive.

“There are no excuses. The consequences can be life-changing.”
