KILDARE: Naas needs a comprehensive parking plan

A comprehensive parking plan is needed for Naas - before the contract with parking wardens Apcoa comes up for renewal next year.
Naas politician Seamie Moore said this should be done soon and it should ensure that the council is not paying out more to the company that it takes in in chargers and fees.
He said the council must take account of the loss of much of the street parking, reduced parking incomes as well as higher costs “of contracted management services.”
The said the council must also factor in the costs associated with court cases.
According to Kildare County Council, a study will be carried out in the context of active travel measures and the review of the pay parking bye laws in Naas which will commence in 2024.
