A fundraising effort organised by the Mercy Convent Parents' Association in Naas raised more than €1,800.

A cheque for a total €1,853.74 has been handed over to the local chapter of St Vincent de Paul.

It came from the “spare coppers”, which were gathered up and donated by the pupils and their parents.

The initiative underscored the true spirit of Christmas and highlighted the impact of small contributions accumulating to make a big difference.
