The live event at Electric Picnic marks a significant milestone for the podcast, which has captivated audiences with its unique
blend of storytelling and insightful dialogue. Guests have ranged from musicians such as Dermot Kennedy, Don Mescall and
Daniel O’Donnell to politicians (Bertie Ahern and Seán Ó Fearghaíl) to sporting and cultural icons, all sharing their personal
stories in the intimate setting of the Dundara Studio, located in the heart of the historic Bog of Allen.
Produced by Enda Grace, Changing Times - The Allenwood Conversations has garnered widespread acclaim for its high
production values and the compelling way it delves into the stories that shape modern Ireland. The Electric Picnic event will
allow festival-goers to experience this dynamic podcast in person, offering a rare opportunity to engage directly with the hosts
and their special guests.
"We are incredibly excited to bring The Allenwood Podcast to Electric Picnic," said Enda Grace, Producer at Dundara Television
& Media. "This festival is the perfect stage for the kind of meaningful conversations we strive to create. It’s a chance for us to
connect with our audience in a new and exciting way. From the spark of an idea to Sunday on the podcast stage at Electric
Picnic. It has been some year for “Changing Times - The Allenwood Conversations”. I’m delighted for Mary, Mary and the team
and we can’t wait. I will interview the two ladies to begin and then we will record an episode in front of the live audience.”
Mary Kennedy, aunt of singer songwriter Dermot Kennedy said “It’s something I never thought I’d say. It’s more in Dermot's
domain I always would have thought. But it’s very exciting! This summer, we, Mary McAleese and I and our producer Enda
Grace and the Changing Times - The Allenwood Conversations team will be appearing at Electric Picnic. It’s wonderful and I
can’t wait. We will be there on Sunday, the final day, on the Leviathan stage in the Mindfield arena! And it should be fantastic”.
Mary Kennedy expressed her enthusiasm for the podcast project, noting, “It’s been lovely to co present Changing Times with
my friend, Mary McAleese. We are both curious women, who have experienced a lot of life and living. It’s a privilege to join
forces now and invite people to tell their personal stories.”
Mary McAleese said:
“I’m really looking forward to the Electric Picnic experience. I’ve never been before so it will be wonderful. Mary Kennedy and
I have been great friends for many years. We both love talking and listening and story telling. ”
